Strep Throat

I don't know what it is about our family, but we pick up strep like gum on a movie theater floor. Poor Mack has it and he is miserable. We started him on some leftover antibiotics. I know, I know. Our family alone is creating supergerms that will eventually kill mankind by not finishing off the full antibiotic course. But what would you do at 10 p.m. on a Saturday night when it is either start the leftover penicillin or go to the ER? I dare you to tell me you would take your kid into the ER and pay $100!

The rain and wind have kicked in here and by tomorrow the weather reports are saying anywhere from 4 to 10 inches on the valley floor. This kind of weather has me thinking about Anaheim in May. If I just close my eyes I can feel the sun on my back and the smile on my face as my family and stand in a very short line to ride Space Mountain.

i used to get step ALL the time when i was younger. i'm happy to say i haven't had it since i was a freshman at UVSC seven years ago! it must be a nichols sickness.

PS - can i dream of disneyland in may too? i need to piggyback off your reality until i have some real warm weathered destination of my own to dream about....

Get better soon Mack!! Strep is the worst.
I'm happy to say Bridger is doing much better and almost done with his nasty antibiotic, whatever it is. I wouldn't have gone to the ER either, you read how long it took me to get him to the regular Dr.!

You should take him to the doc. on monday so he can get some new meds. Otherwise he'll pick it up really easy again.

what i mean is that he needs to finish a whole course of meds.

I am 30 years old and was still getting strep. My tonsils were huge so last Feb. my Dr had them removed. I am not sure if I recomend that, but I feel your pain on the strep!

Don't you think that the fact that you guys don't finish the medicine contributes to the fact that you keep getting it? Oh, and be sure to get new toothbrushes or wash them in the dishwasher or that can cause you to keep getting it.
Tell Mack I hope he feels better soon.
