Sav and I heard about an essay contest in which we can win tickets for 4 to the Miley Cyrus concert here on July 4. We both entered and the website features Sav's essay online, here is the link...

Check it out! (She is listed as Savannah Q. and I am Jeanna N.)

I tried to leave a comment on Savannah's great essay for the tickets, but since I don't have a website "no can do". It was great, though. Couldn't find Jeanna's. I know you will win. You guys are the luckiest people I have ever seen.

Good luck.

Hey Jeanna-- it's Sue. I had a funny experience after I saw you at Julies a few weeks ago. I was at my sister's in Alpine and one of her close friends came over and we were visiting, I found out she served in the same mission as you--and she LOVES you!!! I don't know Darcie's maiden name, but I'm sure you know who I am talking about. Anyway, I love her and all her seven girls. It was fun to make that connection.

Also, I loved Ironman. I met Chris Crutcher at a conference last year at UVSC where he was defending the language he uses in his books. It was interesting to listen to him. He talked about using the language of the characters in the book, just like he would use the language of a client/patient that he was working with. If you want a great laugh and a few tears, read his autobiography--it's called, "King of the Mild Frontier" I enjoyed it, and see where he got much of the inspiration for his novels. Last year I taught his novel Whaletalk in my classroom. It's more raw than Ironman, but so what my students deal with in their own lives.

Well--now I'm rambling, but I just saw your link on Julies blog and wanted to share my Darcie story with you. Have a great day!
