Work Out Playlist

Dear Readers,

A few weeks ago I made some goals for weight loss and some rewards associated with said goals. My first reward comes when I hit a number with a "0" on the end of it, but I refuse to say what the first two numbers are on this blog. My reward is to be reached by Feb 5 and I am within 2 pounds of that goal. My reward is 10 song downloads from iTunes, workout songs. Peppy, happy, encouraging songs. The kind of songs that make me WANT to run. I want to hear the song and think "I can't just walk to this song, I gotta move!"

I am enlisting your help. I have looked online for some workout song ideas in preparation for the download, and I have a few ideas, but I need more!

What songs really fire you up? What makes you want to MOVE!? Give it to me people....Share your favorite workout songs. And if you don't workout but still have some songs that really get you going...do tell!

Many thanks,
Pleasantly Close to Goal in Payson

Oooh! This is too fun:

Timbaland: "The Way I Are"

Rihanna: "Disturbia"
"Shut Up and Drive"

Justin Timberlake: "SexyBack"

Chris Brown: "Forever"

...and those are only a few of my favorites. I'm not sure if we have the same taste, but these are my faves!

Good luck! 2 pounds is nothin'!

Emalei and I must be related because I was going to suggest:

Rihanna: Disturbia
Chris Brown: Forever

Here are some others... take it for what it's worth because I know we all have different taste:

KT Tunstall: Hold On
Britney Spears: Circus
The Pointer Sisters: Jump
Robbie Williams: Hot Fudge (he does say the b-word once though... just a warning)
Timbaland: Release
Tom Petty: Learning to Fly
Beyonce: Single Ladies (put a ring on it)

I hope Emalei meant "sexyback... edited version" :) ha ha.
Make sure any/all Timbaland is edited too.

Okay, I am totally old-school here, and maybe a little rough for your taste, but there's nothing like a little Aerosmith for a workout....love them. I also really like Alicia Keyes these days. My fav from her is Superwoman...makes me feel like one! Good luck!

Well, I don't have any suggestions for you but just had to tell you that you should contact my girls. They are great music people when it comes to running and exercising. It looks like they beat me to it. good luck on those 2 pounds.

Don't laugh BUT if I'm on the spin bike OR back in the day when I could run, I would have to listen to the Rocky soundtrack. Also a few others:

Tom Petty "Won't back down" (not sure if that's the title

Garth Brooks "Standing outside the fire" and the frequency song

"Life is a highway...gona ride it all night long" by Rascal Flatts

Sorry I am horrible with titles

Martina McBride "Happy Girl"

These will get you 2 pounds for sure!!

I don't have any suggestions. I'm bad at that kind of stuff. I just wanted to say yay for goals being reached! Nothing feels better.

Here's my problem, the songs that get me going are songs I wouldn't want my children listening to. I guess I did fall prey to the whole "I don't listen to the lyrics" when I was young thing. I now have XM radio and I love to listen to the 80's and 90's stations. One of my favorite songs from old is "I like big butts". Isn't that terrible? Anyway I will try to think of some cleaner and better ones and get back to you.

So many songs!!!!!!

Madonna: "Into the Groove." A Classic!
Madonna: "Music"
Madonna: "Give it to me." Not as naughty as it sounds.

Justin Timberlake: "Lovestoned."

Kylie Minogue: "Wow"
Kylie Minogue: "Love at first sight"
Kylie Minogue: "What do I have to do"

Gwen Stefani: "What are you waiting for?"

Expose: "Point of no return."

New Order: "World in motion."

The Shamen: "Ebennezer Goode" The song is a metaphor for taking "E" but the song totally captures British Rave.

Stunt: "Raindrops" Very popular in Seattle

The Lovefreekz "Shine"

And oh so many more............

Hey,..you don't really know me but I am a friend of Kelly McGiven's. I sort of ran into your blog by accident. But since I am here...and have had this struggle myself I thought I would share my find.

For me, especially if I am running, I need fast-beat, really fast-beat, music. I found a 3 disk set at Costco called Cardio grooves that have a great beat. Power Music which I have found online also has some fast-beat cardio type music. You can buy it online at itunes and I also recently saw where you can download Power Music from the Biggest Loser site. Check it out! I felt like I found a goldmine when I found this upbeat, much-needed music.
