The Year of a Million Dreams
I just might be the happiest girl on earth. After hearing about a radio contest to win a trip for four to Disneyland I started madly entering, time after time after time. My kids and my husband thought I was a little insane and so did the neighbor kids. But I told all of them, how crazy am I going to look when I win this trip? Who is looking crazy now?????
This morning at 7:03 a.m. we got a call from 106.5 KOSY and were informed that I was the big winner for the day. I was overjoyed and jumping all over the place. I looked over at H who was in bed (which was where we both were when the call came, sleeping) and he had a surprised kinda smile on his face. After I got off the phone I went and woke the kiddos to tell them the good news. It's the third day of 2008 and where are we going to go? DISNEYLAND!!!
We really, really wanted to take the kids to D'Land this year but it just wasn't going to happen, again. So when I heard about this contest I was ALL OVER IT like big ears on Mickey Mouse.
Here is how I won: I went onto the radio's website. Then I had to locate the two radio talkshow personalities in the park. I had to click on both maps of D'Land and Cal Adventure. I finally found them in Star Tours (which is ironic because when we went to D'land 9 years ago, Sav went on this ride first and FREAKED OUT and didn't want to go and set the tone for a somewhat downer trip to D'Land). Once I found the two personalities in Star Tours, I click on them, click on enter to win, click on register and I did this as many times as Captain Jack says "Savvy" in Pirates.
Harold told me I would have to win this trip because he isn't "lucky." To which I said, "Hitch your wagon to this train baby, because I am going to win." AND I DID!
Harold also said that his motto for 2008 is Positive thinking in 2008. So, Harold, how is that new motto going for you?
Feel free to call and congratulate me as I want to tell the whole world just how excited we are. My kids are going to ask the bus driver if they can announce the news into the microphone on the bus. I called my mother right after I told the kids because I had to share the news.
We won 4 3-day Park Hopper passes, 2 nights at a D'Land resort hotel and two gas cards worth $106.50.
The winds, they are a'changin!

Can't think of a more fun loving, deserving family than the Harold Nichols family to win this trip to Disneyland. When are you planning to go?
THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME!! I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes I'm so excited for you and your family. When will you be going on your trip?
I know I allready told you this but that is SWEET!!! You guys totally deserve it! I've been entering all morning. :) Can't wait to let you know I won too!! HEHE!
Way to go Jeanna. It's so fun to win things. I won a microwave once. One year I entered the HGTV Home of the Year contest a few years ago by submitting an entry every day during the contest period. I'm going to go there right now and start that again. Maybe your good luck will rub off on me....

I have one more question: What does WW stand for in your blog name?
Aunt Beth
To all who want to know: I am not sure when we are going to take the trip. My first choice would be to take it the week after I am done with school and go through graduation. It would be an ideal graduation trip for me. Harold would like to go sooner, but I am not sure how to swing that with school in session...so we shall see.
AB: The WW stands for Weight Watchers, but I started a different blog to track that and I didn't want to change my original name now that my family and friends know the web address.
Congratulations! You ARE a lucky person. I was with you at DB when you won that book, and I won NOTHING! Harold is right. He came from the wrong family where luck is needed. When do you go?
Would you like to use my companion passes to fly there?
that is RAD!!! congratulations!!!! you really do deserve it!!! i too will be telling your story to as many people as we know - hope you don't mind....
My sister in law called last night and Justin answered the phone. The first thing he told her was how you won tickets to Dland. We're all excited for you!
I know how you feel. Adam's work is paying for us to go to Disneyworld because he has a conference to go to. I feel like I won a trip too. We are going in March. Congrats and have a blast, you all deserve it.
That is awesome Jeanna!!! My cousin and I won concert tickets on the radio once. They were grass tickets, but when we got there they upgraded us to a suite!! It was awesome!!!
I'm so glad they are doing another year of a million dreams....when you get there, maybe they will grant you the dream of staying in the Disneyland Suite...which is in Cinderella's Castle!!! I heard they grant that to a different family each night! Wouldn't that be awesome!
Nathan's parents got us all Disneyland tickets for Christmas...they said this is the last time they are buying all their kids' tickets. We are going at the end of January...I can't wait! Last time I went to Disneyland was New Years 1999-2000. But, I worked and played at Disney World since then...so, I haven't been that deprived...but, I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!
Congratulations!!! Good attitude and effort!!!
Dude. Way too exciting. I wish I had known about the contest, maybe Scott and I could have been your travel buddies. :)
WOW!! How exciting. Do you get to hear your reaction on the radio? That would make it that much sweeter. Have fun.
PS. Way to go on your grades. (We just got home, I'm a little slow). It was good to see you at Dane's wedding.
Jeanna,
You may recall I started entering the HGTV Dream Home contest after reading of your good luck. I'm feeling quite positive about winning, especially after reading this on their web site:
"We'll announce the lucky winner of the 2008 HGTV Dream Home Giveaway during a live television special! Watch March 16 at 9pm ET / 6pm PT."

March 16th is my birthday! I think this is an omen of good things to come.

Congrats!!!! I am lurking after snooping around on Julie and Matt's blogs. Have a great time! When you see a cast member with a light blue button-up shirt and vest, those are the people that give out the great stuff. It is very random and you have to be in the right place at the right time, but you can get fun things from them!! Even if it is not the stay in the dream suite (at DL it is in the Grand Califorian) they give dinners and priority seating to shows and suvenir fast passes. Have a great time!!!!
