Have you ever met anyone in your life who has had two cars blow up while they are inside the car?
Well, you have now. He is the one on the right. Yes, our Geo Prizm blew up today while Harold was on his way to work. This happened once before when we had the Honda CRX, so this is officially the second time this has happened to him.
Dang, that thing was paid for too! Our friend Steve looked at the car and there are two holes in the engine block. Well, at least we have another car (the van). We are now a one-car family, again.
I just want to dedicate this post to my loving husband. He called to tell me this happened and we just laughed and laughed. Thank you Harold for being such a wonderful man. I love you and I wish better things for your future (no more cars blowing and possibly finding out we have inherited a fortune from a long lost relative who has always admired you!) All my love and big hugs to the man who survived.
p.s. I chose this picture because this is what I imagine Harold looked like when he heard the first "bad noises" coming from the car.

that makes me laugh! not the part about having one car... it takes a special someone to be able to laugh in situations like that. harold is one rad guy!
good luck on that future inheritance. hopefully it's someone from the nichols side and then maybe i'll get a surprise inheritance too.
you should really consider craigslist.org for your next car. i LOVE it. i think you will too.
I called Harold today about lunch and he told me the story and he was laughing the whole time. I felt bad laughing about it too, but I couldn't help it. Anyways, good luck with it all.
dang.. what a bummer! What is it with people in our family? If it isn't a car blowing up it's a car on fire!! (see matts blog) Well I sure am glad that Harold didn't get hurt. GOOD LUCK finding a new car.
Oh my word! I agree with your sister Brittany, Craigslist.org is the place to shop for a used car, great deals, that's how we got Dane's clunker. Of course I am the queen of the family and so I get to drive the newish station wagon. Wedded Bliss aint it grand! I'm glad you can laugh! I wish I played the lottery because I would so put you guys on my Christmas list! Give Harold a big hug from the Berry Fam, he sure deserves it!
I love that Harold laughed too. He is such an amazing person, he really sees the big picture. I'm sorry about the car, if you need any help with transportation give me a ring. We actually haven't talke to each other in a while because of this blog thing. We ought to do that.
Why is it that I am constantly laughing when I read your blog? Well, except for the sad parts...
Talk about bad luck. I'm glad to hear that harold is O.K. It's great that you guys could laugh about it.
